A river descent with no technical difficulty through one of the most beautiful canyons in Europe: travertine waterfalls, crystal-clear water at 22 ºC and a swim beneath the Krupa waterfalls. By raft or kayak, depending on the water level.
With perfectly clear water at around 22 ºC and a spectacular canyon dotted with waterfalls, the Zrmanja and Krupa rivers are among the most beautiful in Europe. The descent mixes stretches of current with calm water and involves no technical difficulty: it's perfect for all ages and fitness levels, ideal for an adventure day with family, friends or colleagues.
The trip starts in Kaštel Žegarski, a small village just an hour's drive from Zadar. During the first hour you'll learn to paddle as you head down the canyon to the Krupa River waterfalls, where you can swim beneath the falls. Then come more travertine cascades and rapids — surrounded by fish and birds, exploring the typical karst landscape — all the way to the village of Muškovci, where the descent ends. Afterwards you can grab a drink at a nearby restaurant or have a picnic of your own.
Depending on the water level, the descent is done in SOTAR rafting boats (spring and autumn, when there's more water) or in kayaks (summer). The route and price are the same, and even at low water the descent is still very exciting.
