Five hours by speedboat from Split: a turquoise lagoon, a UNESCO-listed medieval town and a nearby island. The alternative to the full-day trip for anyone who doesn't want an early start or 11 hours at sea — with plenty of time to swim at every stop.
If you don't have the time (or the energy) for a full-day trip but still want to see the Blue Lagoon, this is your option. And it has one welcome advantage: the afternoon departure leaves at 14:30, so you can have a lie-in and a relaxed breakfast. For early risers, there's a morning departure at 09:30.
What's more, travelling by speedboat you reach the first stop in just 20-30 minutes, and the others even faster: you spend little time sailing — ideal if you get seasick — and have plenty of time to swim, snorkel and explore at each place.
The Blue Lagoon, between the islands of Drvenik Veli and Krknjaši, is the star: an inland sea sheltered from the wind, with a sandy bottom, an average depth of 2-4 metres and turquoise water that looks photoshopped. We continue with a stroll around Trogir, one of the best-preserved medieval towns in the Mediterranean and a UNESCO World Heritage Site: stone streets, a 13th-century cathedral, Venetian palaces and free time for a coffee or an ice cream. We finish on a third island —Čiovo o Šolta— depending on sea conditions, with one last swim stop before heading back to Split.
Boarding at Matejuška harbour. Welcome from the crew, safety briefing and we set off for Trogir. By speedboat, the crossing to the first stop takes just 20-30 minutes.
We arrive at Trogir's historic harbour, a World Heritage Site. Free time to stroll around the Old Town and see St Lawrence Cathedral and the Venetian palace. Coffee or ice cream on a terrace overlooking the sea.
Arrival at the Blue Lagoon between Drvenik Veli and Krknjaši. A sheltered inland sea, sandy bottom and turquoise water 2-4 metres deep. Plenty of time to swim and snorkel.
Third and final stop on one of the two islands — the choice depends on the wind and sea on the day. Hidden coves with clean water and one last swim before heading back.
We return to Matejuška harbour. Estimated arrival around 14:30 (morning departure) or 19:30 (afternoon departure).
The order of the stops and the choice between Čiovo or Šolta may vary depending on sea and wind conditions. The skipper will adjust the route to make the most of the day's best conditions.

You pay the remaining 50 €/person on the day of the tour, in cash (EUR) or by Revolut.
We chose this half-day trip because we only had one day in Split. Spot on. The Blue Lagoon really is blue, with crystal-clear water and a sandy bottom. Trogir was a bonus, a fairytale town. 5 perfect hours.
We came with two young children and the half-day option was perfect. They'd never have lasted 11 hours. They went wild for the Blue Lagoon: shallow water and fish to watch with the snorkel. Trogir is very photogenic for a stroll.
We took the afternoon departure (14:00) and it was a great call: Trogir in golden light and a quieter Blue Lagoon. Very professional skipper. Mario answered all our questions beforehand on WhatsApp.
Booking online was hassle-free. A 15€ deposit via Stripe and the rest to the skipper in cash. The tour delivered everything it promised: a gorgeous lagoon, a stroll around Trogir, a stop on Čiovo. Recommended.
We were looking for something shorter than the Blue Cave tour and this was ideal. The Blue Lagoon alone is worth the trip. The stop in Trogir is an added bonus. 65€ is a fair price for 5 quality hours.
Punctual departure at 09:00 from Matejuška. Very friendly skipper. The Blue Lagoon has a sandy bottom and warm water, ideal for non-swimmers. Trogir is UNESCO-listed and you can tell: beautiful round every corner.
We're an older couple and didn't want a full-day tour. This option was the right decision. Comfortable boat, calm sea at 9 in the morning, well-paced stops. We were back in Split with time for lunch and a rest.
This tour is perfect if you're short on time in Split. A beautiful Blue Lagoon for snorkelling, and Trogir has one of the prettiest old towns we've seen in Croatia. We'd definitely do it again.
Better than any big tour on a slow boat. Speedboat, 26 people maximum, a friendly atmosphere. Trogir really surprised us, the medieval cathedral is impressive. The Blue Lagoon lived up to expectations.
Good value for money. We'd seen similar tours for over 100€ lasting the same time. This trip for 65€ with everything included was a pleasant surprise. The snorkelling gear is much appreciated.
We were a group of 4 girlfriends. Music on board, a relaxed vibe, well-judged stops. The Blue Lagoon was the highlight: we swam for almost an hour in crystal-clear water. On Šolta we stopped at a cove with zero other tourists.
My girlfriend and I, first time in Croatia, wanted a trip that wouldn't wear us out. Half a day was perfect. A stroll through central Trogir, coffee on a harbourside terrace, a spectacular Blue Lagoon. Highly rated.
A simple, efficient and honest tour. No exaggerated promises, they simply deliver what they say. The skipper knew exactly where to stop to avoid the crowds. Especially recommended if you're staying in central Split.
We kicked off the season with this trip at the end of May. Few crowds, the water still a bit cold but spotless. Trogir free of mass tourism, wonderful. A great experience to open the season in Croatia.

It's ideal if you only have one day in Split and don't want to spend 11 hours at sea, or if you're travelling with young children, older people or anyone who doesn't cope well with long crossings. In 5 hours you see the Blue Lagoon, the town of Trogir and a nearby island without the intensity of the Blue Cave tour.
Morning (09:30): less wind, calmer water, ideal for snorkelling and for avoiding the fierce summer heat. Afternoon (14:30): you can sleep in and have a relaxed breakfast; golden light in Trogir and a quieter lagoon. You choose your departure when booking.
It depends on the departure time and the sea conditions. Čiovo is linked to Trogir by a bridge and is easier to reach. Šolta is a little further away, with more spectacular unspoilt coves. The skipper decides on the day based on the wind and the sea.
A sheltered stretch of sea between the islands of Drvenik Veli and Krknjaši, with a sandy bottom and intensely turquoise water. Average depth 2-4 metres, perfect for swimming and snorkelling. There are fish and sometimes even octopuses on the nearby rocks.
You only pay the 15 €/person deposit online via Stripe (card, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Revolut Pay). The balance (50 €/person) is paid directly to the skipper on the day of the tour, in cash (EUR) or by Revolut.
Speedboat with crew, snorkelling gear, fuel and fees. Aperitif and water on board. It does NOT include meals or extra drinks in Trogir or on the island.
The crew on the group boat are local Croatians and speak English. Mario looks after you personally on WhatsApp before and after the tour for any questions.
If the skipper cancels due to sea conditions, we refund 100% of the deposit or change the date free of charge.
Maximum 26 people. A bigger group than the Blue Cave tour (12 spots) but still manageable.
Recommended to enjoy the snorkelling stop at the Blue Lagoon. We carry life jackets on board if you need them.
Matejuška harbour, right in the centre of Split. We send you the exact GPS location via WhatsApp 24-48 h beforehand.
With GetYourGuide, Viator or TripAdvisor you book through a platform, but the people who take you out are a local Croatian operator.
