Five hours of adventure in the Cetina River canyon: descending on foot through gorges, tunnels, deep pools and the 55-metre waterfall. Optional jumps and full equipment included.
The Cetina River canyon hides one of the most complete adventure experiences in Croatia. Over 2.5 kilometres we make our way down the canyon combining hiking, easy climbing, natural tunnels, rock slides, swimming through deep pools and abseiling down waterfalls.
The most impressive stretch includes a 55-metre waterfall (you don't jump it; you abseil down or bypass it) and several optional 3-8 metre jumps into deep pools. The route is designed so everyone can choose their own adrenaline level: there are alternatives for almost every obstacle.
All our guides are certified by HGSS (the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service) and the most experienced guide on the team has done more than 1,000 descents. Full equipment (wetsuit, helmet, buoyancy vest) included. You just bring swimwear, a towel and trainers.
If you choose the transfer option, we leave Split at 10:00 in an air-conditioned minibus — a 50-minute drive. If you come on your own, go straight to Zadvarje for 11:00 (free parking).
Check-in, guide assignment and equipment handout: wetsuit, helmet and life jacket. Safety briefing and approach hike to the canyon.
We enter the canyon. The first stretch combines walking over rock, small jumps and swimming in calm pools to get used to the water and the pace.
We pass through natural tunnels carved by the water and slide down rock chutes. The most fun part of the route.
Arrival at the main waterfall. You do NOT jump from here; you go down by rope (abseil assisted by the guide) or bypass it on an alternative path.
Several optional 3-8 metre jumps into deep pools. If you prefer, you can skip them via an alternative path. Everyone chooses their own adrenaline level.
End of the route and change of clothes. At 15:00, those who came on their own are driven back to their car; the transfer gets back to Split at around 15:45.
Times are approximate and depend on the group's level, the river's flow and individual choices on the optional jumps. The canyon adventure lasts about 3 hours; the whole day, 4 hours on your own or 6 with the transfer from Split.
We only charge a deposit in advance of 10 €/person to secure your spot. The balance (40 €/person) is paid on the day of the tour, in cash or via Revolut. That way, if we have to cancel due to bad weather, you get your money back straight away.
Up to 24 h before the tour: full refund of the deposit.
If we cancel due to sea conditions or the cave being closed: 100% refund or a free date change.
You pay the remaining 40 €/person on the day of the tour, in cash (EUR) or via Revolut.
One of the best experiences in Croatia. The 55-metre waterfall is incredible; abseiling down it is a total adrenaline rush. The guide made us feel completely safe at every step. Quality equipment: wetsuit, helmet, vest. I'd do it again.
We did canyoning with no previous experience and honestly it's perfectly doable. The 3/5 level is accurate: demanding but accessible. The tunnels and natural slides were my favourite part.
Better than rafting if you're after real adrenaline. Here you're on foot in the canyon, jumping, climbing, sliding down the rock. Rafting is more relaxed; this is active adventure. Recommended for young people.
We took our 12-year-old son and he loved it. The optional jumps let him choose what to do. We went down the 55m waterfall via the alternative path (no rope with a child). Perfect for getting teenagers started.
The HGSS guides are a guarantee. They're professional mountain rescuers. They give you clear instructions, correct your posture on every jump and secure you on the ropes. You feel safe at all times.
The 55-metre waterfall stays with you forever. You go down on a rope, assisted by the guide, feeling the water pouring over you. Pure adrenaline, but with perfectly controlled technique. Unforgettable.
Water at 18-21°C sounds cold, but with the wetsuit you don't even notice. In fact, in the August heat it's very welcome. Bring old trainers that you don't mind ruining, or pay the 7€ hire.
A full-on adventure day. 5 hours that fly by. Every metre of the canyon has something: a pool to swim in, a tunnel to go through, a natural slide, an optional jump. Huge variety along the route.
Stag do, 8 lads. We had a brilliant time. The optional jumps let us compete to see who dared do the highest ones. The guide treated us like friends, not tourists.
I was looking for something more intense than rafting and canyoning lived up to expectations. More physical, more vertical, more of an adventure feel. I'd go back without hesitation and try other canyons.
Mario answered all our questions beforehand on WhatsApp: fitness level, the children's ages, what to bring. Having personal support like that is really useful, because the activity is technical and you need to understand it properly.
The best experience of my holiday in Croatia. After several days on the beach I was craving adrenaline and this delivered. The canyon is stunning: sheer walls of white stone, emerald water, Mediterranean vegetation.
Absolutely recommended. The guides know what they're doing, the equipment is new, the canyon is perfectly set up. Nothing is improvised. Controlled adventure at the highest level. Rather than 4 hours sitting on a tour bus, do this.
I expected more high jumps, but I understood it's reasonable that most are 3-8 metres. The highest jump on the route is optional. Everyone decides how far to go. The 55m waterfall on the rope is the best bit.

Very different. Rafting is on a raft down the river's rapids. Canyoning is on foot through the canyon: you walk, climb, go through tunnels, slide down natural chutes, jump into pools from cliffs and swim under waterfalls. More physical, more adventurous, more adrenaline.
Two options, which you choose on the booking form: on your own, 50 € (you arrive at Zadvarje at 11:00; free parking, and at the end we take you back to your car) or with our transfer from Split, 70 € (departure at 10:00 in an air-conditioned minibus, return trip; back in Split at around 15:45).
Level 3 out of 5. You don't need to be an athlete, but you do need to be reasonably fit. You cover 2.5 km over uneven terrain and get very wet. Not suitable for people with serious heart problems, recent injuries or a fear of water.
8 years, accompanied by a responsible adult. Over-65s are best to check with us first.
It isn't compulsory. We wear life jackets throughout the route. But if you can swim you'll enjoy the pools more.
No, all the jumps are optional. There are alternatives to avoid them. The highest waterfall is 55 metres, but you do NOT jump from it; you abseil down or bypass it.
You bring: swimwear, a towel, trainers (not flip-flops or beach shoes) and dry clothes to change into. We provide: wetsuit, helmet and life jacket. If you can't bring trainers, we hire out footwear for 7 €.
The canyon adventure lasts about 3 hours (11:30-14:30), plus changing. In total: about 4 hours if you come on your own, or 6 hours door to door with the transfer from Split.
The guides are local Croatians and speak fluent English. They are all certified by the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service (HGSS) and the most experienced has done more than 1,000 descents. Mario looks after you personally via WhatsApp.
18-21 °C. Cool but bearable with the wetsuit we provide.
It depends on your option: with the transfer, we leave from Split at 10:00; on your own, you arrive at Zadvarje at 11:00 (35 min by car from Split, free parking). We send you the exact GPS location of your meeting point when you book.
From 1 April to 31 October, with departures every day, subject to the river's flow.
Deposit of 10 €/person online via Stripe (card, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Revolut Pay). The balance is paid to the guide after the adventure, in cash or via Revolut.
Canyoning goes ahead in any weather; you'll get wet anyway. It's only cancelled in case of thunderstorms or the river rising, with a full refund of the deposit.
With GetYourGuide, Viator or TripAdvisor you book through a platform, but the people who take you out are a local Croatian operator. If something changes, you end up opening support tickets that take ages. With us, everything is sorted with a single WhatsApp — directly with the people who run the tour.
